Make A Call

Your voice matters. Elected officials are called to represent the people they serve, and they need to hear from those whose faith compels them to seek justice, protect human dignity, and strengthen our communities. Calling your representatives does not require expertise or special training—only the willingness to speak with clarity, conviction, and compassion.

Below you will find current issues, background information, and sample scripts to help guide your conversation. You do not need to say everything perfectly. A simple, respectful call can make a difference. Whether you are making your first call or your fiftieth, know that faithful citizenship begins when ordinary people choose to raise their voices.

Select an issue below, review the talking points, and make the call.

Pray this Prayer

From its founding, the African Methodist Episcopal Church has understood prayer to be both a spiritual discipline and a source of strength for faithful witness. Prayer is not a substitute for action—it is the foundation of action. As we seek to protect human dignity, strengthen our communities, and pursue justice, we do so grounded in prayer and guided by the Spirit.

Drawing on the rich traditions of the AME Church, these prayers and litanies are organized for use by individuals, congregations, and communities. Whether offered in private devotion, during corporate worship, or in moments of public witness, may they sustain us for the work ahead.

Explore prayers and litanies for communities, churches, elected officials, and other concerns, and join the Connection in praying for God's justice, wisdom, and peace.
